Our little patch of land

Our Allotment, late this summer

Pretty overgrown, but pleasant none the less!

We really fell behind on our site this year. I was so ill early in the season, and the frosts wouldn't pack in until early June! Then when they finally did, we had one good month...July was ROASTING hot and I couldn't bear to be out in it for more than a few minutes, and then August rained all month. D'oh!

Squashes - October 06

All home-grown!

We grew all these chaps above from seed this year, which was good fun. We've got a few pumpkins as well that are too big for the windowsill. I love them there, they look so lovely and autumnal!

Pumpkin Growing

We had some success with squashes and pumpkins this year, despite the fact we really neglected them! This one was destined to be a jack-o-lantern and then pumpkin butter. Yum!

Juicy and Prolific Raspberries

I don't know what we did right here...but we sure did something! We couldn't keep up with all the raspberries we got this year. In fact, I've still got some in my freezer!

Drying Onions

We had a decent crop of onions as well, and those that didn't get used straight out of the ground I took home and dried out to store. There's some garlic in there as well, and there is NOTHING like fresh garlic, let me tell you!

Invincible Strawberries

This clump of strawberries must be the strongest strain on the planet. As they were in the path, we tried to kill them the year before with chemicals and a blowtorch...but these survived! We didn't eat them for fear of what we put on them, but by next year, we'll probably give in, as they put out a lot of lovely fruit!
